Description Restoration of a fragment of mosaic floor in the nave of 1889 Basilica (its south-west corner) was the contiuation of works started in May 1972 (reports nos. 1, 2, NPTC archive, files 1642, 1643). After the mosaics was removed, archaeological investigation of its substructure was done. As a final phase of the restoration, mosaic slabs were put onto their former place within the basilica.
